Bleaching Teeth

Tooth bleaching is offered for cosmetic purposes here at Belsitodental. Many individuals who have discolored enamel are not satisfied with the appearance of their teeth and go to great lengths to achieve the perfect smile. Tooth bleaching can be a solution. This can be done at Belsitodental or at home. Any person considering using home bleaching products should seek advice from a dentist. This visit is crucial as home bleaching treatments may not be effective or preferable for every individual. For the best and safest results, the individual should be monitored by the dentist throughout either home bleaching or professionally applied treatments.

Q: Is it safe?A: Peroxide-based teeth whitening has been employed by dentists for over a decade, and over-the-counter products such as Crest WhiteStrips are used by millions of people worldwide with little or no side effects. We don't recommend the bleaching for anyone under 16 years of age or pregnant or lactating women. Q: Does bleaching cause sensitivity? A: In most cases, no. Since our specially formulated peroxide gel is on your teeth for 60 minutes at a time, our clients rarely experience sensitivity. Q: I have caps on my front teeth, will the bleach work on them?A: No, it can also dullen the glaze put on crowns, caps and veneers and should be avoided. Q: How long will it last?A: By following our post whitening instructions, your teeth will always be lighter than they were before. We generally recommend touch up applications every year for over 40 year olds and every 18 months-2 years for under 40 year olds in addition to our recommended maintenance program.
